The Pioneer VSX-9040TXH, The Denon AVR-890, and The Yamaha HTR6290

I realize the Yamaha is in a price range much higher than the Denon and Pioneer but I can buy the Pioneer for $500, the Denon for $675 and the Yamaha for $800 ............ Money does matter since i don't have much to blow, but these three are all around the same price range and I'm wondering which would give me the best audio quality for my buck.

I would go with the Denon AVR-890, They make just great things. Also the price is right.

Well, what are your goals here? Do you have a preference more for music or for movies? How big is your room? When looking at receivers in the less than $1,000 range, it is best to look at the features that you need first and foremost. The reason you ask? Well, there will not be much audible difference SQ wise in that price range. As such, I also prefer the Denon brand just in case you were wondering. ;);) Good luck in your decision.

Cheers,

Phil
