Which Receiver as Pre/Pro: Denon 3803 or Pioneer Elite VSX-53TX?

The question I have for anyone willing to pitch in their 2¢ is that I've currently purchased a used Pioneer Elite VSX-53TX and I'm debating on whether using this as a stand-alone receiver in my secondary HT setup or using it as my pre/pro in my main HT setup. I'm currently using my Denon 3803 as a pre/pro and I'm quite satisfied with it, however I'd like to get some thoughts on which one might be a better solution as the stand-alone receiver or as the pre/pro.

The Denon's amps are slightly stronger (110w x7) compared to the Pioneer (100w x7), but I'm sure this is a negligible difference and really wouldn't come into play here. I'm thinking the only difference may be in the sound field and clarity between the two and having not heard the Pio firsthand, I can't decide myself. I'm sure either one will perform fine, but being the audioholic I am, I'm trying to squeeze the most from what I've got and if I can get some feedback before I set up the Pioneer, that'd be ideal.

Thanks all in advance... -TD

Yes, that 10 watts is negligible indeed. Not to worry about that clarity issue either. You need to make sure that what you need out of these two receivers, ability to process the software you want to-Cd, DVD, etc- will be met with one of them. Either will be fine.
