which Pana plasma?

I'm in the market for a large tv for our family room, probably a 58 or 65". Looking for a great picture for sports and movies, but also need a screen that is not too reflective. Any input on the differences between the following Panasonic models (which seem to offer a lot of bang for the buck):

(1) 65v10
(2) 65s2
(3) 65s1

If you've got the money, absolutely buy the V10.

If not, get the S1. You'll be missing better 24p playback (less judder) and THX mode (acurate color out of the box) primarily. Whether or not that's worth the extra (usually significant) money or so is up to you.

I think I've heard the S1s are actually better than the S2s, but I may be mistaken.

V10 all the way...no comparison. I posted a great deal in the deals thread. If the sale is over, I'm pretty sure they will match the price.

Sorry to disagree, but I would strongly recommend Panasonic's new VT25. The full model # is TC-P65VT25. The VT10 is last year's model and Panasonic made some very big improvements in this year's model.

He didn't ask about the VT series...He asked about the V10. I would also go for the VT over the V10 if I had a choice (but thats not what he asked). The V10 is last years model (Not Vt10).

I would take the V10 over the S1 and S2 any day of the week. Due to the Darker blacks (slightly, probably not able to tell the difference with the naked eye), 3:2 pulldown, THX mode just to name a few.

I felt compelled to bring up Panasonic's successor to the V10 that employees much of Pioneer's Kuro final filtering and non glare coatings on the VT25.

To further my reasoning to bring up the VT25 is the greatly improved overall pq Panasonic has achieved this year. And now please don't laugh or criticize my opinion on this one, but I have been enjoying 3D on DIRECTV's coverage of the the World Cup, a few BD movies and a great 3D demo disc. Very cool to watch and far better than expected 3D effects.

Finally, the vast majority of members and visitors should carefully consider investing wisely as TVs have a long life span. This is especially important for your main viewing room. Screen size and display technology as well spending time to select the exact model will ensure many years of the best enjoyment and entertainment for your investment.

Robert, I agree with you. I would take a VT25 over a V10...The only difference is I would have mentioned everything you said after I answered his question.

V series without hesitation. So much better in PQ, however the price difference is a big difference also.

VT-25. But if this is out of the price range, take a peek at a LG. My father got the VT-25 but when looking, the LG was a close second to my eye and $1000 less.

I have a 50 inch V-10 and am very happy with it.Only thing I don't like is the glare during day time tv watching; so you mite want to consider the VT-25.
