I'm in need of a new reciever and I would like to know which one would be better for my needs. I'm either deciding on the 707 or the 807, the only thing I see being the major difference is the amount of power and ethernet connection on the 807.

I will be using this in a room that is 18 x 20 x 8. My speakers are Yamaha NF-700 for the mains, NC-700 for the center and NB-700 for the rears. These speakers are 6 ohms. My sub is a Velodyne CRT12.

If you can find an *05 series Onkyo receiver I think they were the best line released in recent years however I'd suggest you look long and hard at this deal

http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKTXSR806B/Onkyo/TX-SR806-THX-Ultra2-130w-x-7ch-HDMI-806-Receiver-BLACK-FREE-SHIP-/1.html

I know it's the old model, but it's also vastly reduced in price and a great deal. The 805 was better but the 806 is still pretty good.

Not sure if you've made a purchase yet, but wanted to make sure you knew about Shoponkyo.com. Sometimes they have different refurb models then accessories4less, and if you catch shoponkyo with a 10% off refurbs which they run quite often you can land a great deal.

I have an 805 myself and am vastly pleased with it, but now that the tx-nr807 is out I may need to do some thinking about swapping out. Still need to find some reviews on the amp section on the new models to see how they compare.
