<font color='#000000'>Ok. Here is my delema. Im in the market for a new receiver. I want the best bang for the buck. I want it to be future proof, i want it to sound grreeeaaTTTT. Movies 50%, HT 50%. Im also in Canada so the prices up here differ from the US greatly. Here is what im looking at.
1) Yamaha rx-v1300 $1000 plus tax
2) Yamaha rx-v2200 $1000 plus tax
3) Onkyo tx-sr700 $1200 plus tax
4) Sony str-da 4es $1400 plus tax
5) Sony str-da5es $1500 plus tax
After reading the posts on this site, especially by steve (sorry, forget your last name) about the 4es going the cheap route on ic chips vs. the 5es, and others daying it doesent sound as good as the 5es, i might just as well drop this from my list. Forget Denon. The 3802 is $1800 plus tax here. YEEK ! I want to get away with paying the least amount of money, but want to say i have the best sounding system i can afford. I know alot has to do with speakers, placement, room dimentions, flooring, ceiling, wife yelling (just kiddin). Also, with the ic chips in the 4 and 5es, does this sound affect 2 channel stereo, or HT sound? Also, does havieng 2 or 3 dsp processors really have a better sound than just 1?
Right now im running a prologic sony str-911, and can honestly say that after half and hour of music listening, im tired or annoyed of the sound. I want a receiver that i can listen to for hours if i so wish, without regreting the sound quality and warmth of the range of notes and voices. Any help would be apprechiated.
Thanks for listening (reading)
