I don't know, but they seem to be well reviewed. I notice that one of the reviews says that he needed to screw into his Polks, and if there is a chance you would do that, I would look towards some HTD(?) mounts like what rmk used. If I did it over again, I probably would have got those instead of my Omni mounts (which could possibly be the most well known brand). Well, you see, a common rec you hear is to get double the weight-spec of whatever your speakers really weigh, and well these here are rated pretty solidly at 44 lbs. Just letting you know of some other options. I remember rmk said that Jeff Permanian fully encouraged him to drill into his speakers, like whatever it's no big deal. Your call of course. On my PSB, it would have been a very simple operation, the xover is attached directly to the binding post-plate (I forget what the proper name is, argh), so no fear there, and I could just temporarily remove driver to shake out the dust if I wanted to.

Thanks Jost, drilling into the cab's is not an option, and both of the mounts that I listed above state they will support up to 50lbs. My concern is if angling the speaker downward it sliding off the shelf, the side vice style grips the speaker and supposedly prevents this, I have anti-slip material that I could place underneath speaker and replace the side grips with a better foam pad and also some plastic ties to secure the speaker to the wall plate in case it does slide forward. I always read the 1 and 2 star reviews first to see how I can remedy the problems encountered with each mount. :D
Thanks my friend for your input.:)

ahblaza, I was happy to blurt out whatever came across my mind, so you're welcome. :p It appears to me you've done your due diligence and thought everything through already. Surround speakers get used so infrequently, and of that "1% of the time", the surrounds are blaring only for 1% of that. So like 0.01% of the time. :p But I rarely listen to mch music so take that with salt. Only fear is how crazy you crank your subwoofer(s) I guess.

Off the wall idea (pun only half azz intended): if it pretty much looks identical (depends on the grille), you might* consider flipping the speaker upside down if that allows you to have a less severe angle for less worry of a speaker slipping off so to speak. As far as I understand it, there isn't a negative effect with flipping it upside down, assuming the angles to ears from drivers remain to same. (Sideways is another story.) Granted, I don't think you'll gain much in this regard, but it's just something to ponder I guess. Mmm, on second thought, I'd ask others first before you do that.

Hey guys,
Which of these mounts would you buy, hopefully someone has used or experience with both of these. The price seems like the only difference, no?
My monitors are 14.5"H X 7.5"W X 10.5D, wt. 17.5 lbs. Thanks to all.

Amazon.com: Pinpoint AM-40B Side Clamping Bookshelf Speaker Wall Mount (Pair): Electronics
or

Amazon.com: Rocelco B-Tech Rocelco BT77 Ultragrip Pro Loudspeaker Wall Mount - Pair (Black): Electronics

Cheers Jeff :)
Those are the same mounts. The company changed names or whatever but I always thought those would work best for speakers with a rounded off front baffle.

If your front baffle is square then the mounts I have from Parts Express work well enough. I think these require a couple of screws through the back plate though. I wouldn't trust a speaker in any wall mount without a mechanical fastener.

Thanks Alex, I thought they were the same except $. I like the PE mounts but max weight is 15 lbs.. I really like the front clamping style and you are spot on about some type of fastener, I'm working on that now. :D
How come you keep using your baby picture for avatar, show your mature adult pic, I know you're older now my friend or have you found the fountain of youth.:D Thanks
Jeff:)

I tried these mounts but felt they weren't strong enough for my RB-81 speakers. I went with OMNIMOUNT 60.0WB-B. Much beefier than the Pinpoint AM-40B but twice the price and size.

I don't get many requests for current pic's ... maybe it's because I refuse to cover my balls. :D
Time has been good to you my man, you have aged well. Quite the pair of trophies you so eloquently have on display. :D Be careful of low blows.

I have the side clamping B-Techs for my surround back. They do have a hole in the front of the plate where the bottom of the speaker sits on. I used a small wood screw (and I do mean small) that helps keep the speakers firmly in place. They aren't moving.

You can also use that anti slip material that is used under small rugs placed on smooth sufaces. I use it with my DIY side wall speaker mounts and placed a 1/4" strip on the front of the shelve, very secure even without the strip. I used a 30 lb. CC speaker above my TV angled down towards LP with the anti slip material and the speaker never moved. Hope this helps.:)

If you have a TV sitting above the fireplace, check out dynamicmounting.com
I just installed my 70 inch Sony TV on this mount and I finally have a comfortable viewing height and angle. Trust me, if you are going to spend the money on a tv. Make sure you're not staring at an uncomfortable viewing angle. It should be at I level and this quality constructed mount makes that possible if the only location you have is above the fireplace.
Customer service, quality design, and very functional!
