Which is better...Denon 3803 or 2105 for HT?

As a newbie to the HT world, can anyone explain to me which is better for a new HT system....

AVR-2105 (2004 model)

3803 (2003 model)

The 2105 is newer but I may be able to save a little by going with last year's model.

My main concern is that the 2105 has better specs (eg more component video inputs etc)

As an AV newbie, I value everyone's feedback.

Hopjohn's link is not a bad idea. Often you can find the necessary information in another thread.

I would say get the one that would meet your needs the best. I recently bought a Denon 2200 DVD player. It was last years model, I compared it to the newer models and decided that I didn't need the added features for this model year. I also got a great price, which was the deal breaker for me.

I doubt you will regret buying either receiver.

I was in the same spot as you...choosing between the 3803 demo and a new 2805. My researched showed that the biggest difference makers to me were:

3803 - more power
2805 - Dolby Pro Logic IIx

Because I had inefficient speakers and was more into music than movies I went with the 3803. I got really lucky though (in a way). My 3803 demo turned out to be a dud.
Tweeter couldn't find another 3803 to replace it with so they gave me a brand spankin new 3805 which had even more power AND DPL IIx!

I have 4
