Alright, I'm about to go down to Florida for 20 days to Elgin AFB with ROTC, and I'm going to be without my computer, a TV, Xbox, etc. for that whole time, and it's kinda freaking me out. All I got is my portable CD player to listen to music on, and I could use a new set of headphones and now would be a good time to buy them. I'm not looking to spend too much, like 60 max, and I've found two pretty good ones. I want to get yalls opinion.

For some reason I can't post a direct link on the parts express link, sorry.

What kind of music do you listen to? The audio technicas are decent, but dark and somewhat veiled. If you're looking for a neutral or open sounding set, I would shy from them. Sony's lower end models tend to have tinny highs and bloated lows. Check out the Sennheiser 212 and if you'd be willing to go with a semi-open headphone hd497

I own a pair of Koss Porta Pros ~$40ish. Very easy to drive (importent for portable cd players), clear with good bass. The only drawback to some is they are open headphones. Dose not bother me at all but others feel differently.

Okay, let's not waste time. I would bet that the headphones you linked to are basicly junk. Nearly every headphone is, especially in these price ranges. If you want a serious headphone for $60, I will refer you to exactly two models, and two models only: Sony MDR-V6(Not MDR-V600, MDR-V6 is exactly the same as MDR-7506 but with different label) and Grado SR60(very poor construction and not as accurate, but has a pleasant euphonic sound to many people). The Sony is a very accurate headphone, and is built better than most other headphones, regardless of price. You can get a factory refurbished MDR-V6 for $52.00 USD on ebay.com. For example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40138&item=5777603715&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

A new one is about $62.00 USD on ebay. For example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40137&item=5778205472&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I have had two factory refurbished headphones from Sony in the past. They looked like new, with no visible evidence of ever being used. They come in a plain white box with "Sony Refurbished" written on the side instead of the retail box.

You beat me to it WmAx :D

I second the MDR-7506/V6 recommendation. Simply awesome headphones. Truthful as you can get.
