Which Forum would I ask advice about speaker stands?

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my DV62 package (4 DV62s, 1 DV62CLRS, V1220 sub).

Need to know where I can learn more about the importance of speaker stands (or lack of).

Anyone heard of G-Wiz Products. It seems by their website, they make looms, quilt displays, etc... But on ebay, they sell speaker stands.

Here is there link on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/CUSTOM-up-to-36-DCAF-Solid-Oak-Speaker-Stands-GWiz_W0QQitemZ5795005648QQcategoryZ14997QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Has anyone ever used this company?

Besides this company, does anyone have any suggestions on materials (metal v. wood) and manufacturer (Sanus?).

I'm on a budget and can spend approx. $75. for two stands.

Thanks.

Those look like some nice speaker stands. If you want metal, Parts Express sells a variety of stands as well that are within your budget. I'm not sure what your tastes are, but check them out. Just search for "speaker stand" at Parts Express to get to the main page for stands.

Check ubid.com they usually have speaker stands for around $40 and overstock.com carries some sanus stands for around $45, or you can build your own for about the same price

Those IKEA nesting instinct stands look like they will not carry much more than a tiny little satellite, so I would not use those for any decent sized bookshelf speakers.

The G-wiz stands look OK, but they are just a knock off of Sanus stands, and it looks like they only cost a little less.

IMO, the 24" medium mass stands from Parts Express at $65 are the best stands out there under $100. PN#240-742.

You can also take a look at the stuff at www.racksandstands.com

B&W sells stands for $75.00 that are very nice and can be sand or lead shot filled. If you are in the market for a pair of stands, don't overlook these.

Those look nearly identical to the PE med. mass stands (which can also be filled) I paid $48/pr for 3 pairs when they were on sale.

I wouldn't rule out IKEA. I am using it for the past one year and it has been absolutely fine for me. It's really worth the price.
