Which Center Channel Is Good

Hey Guys, I own the entire EOsone package with the Eosone RSF 600 speakers and the Eosone RSF-912 Subwoofers and the RSR-350 Right Channel Speakers. I have purchased a Pioneer Elite 1120HD and the Pioneer Elite VSX-41 Receiver. I purchased the Eosone system when I was working at best buy at a discounted price but they were out of the center channels. I need a center channel now to complete my home theater.

Can anyone recommend a good center channel that will match the power of these speakers?

the textbook answer is to find one from the same model line, to match the timbre. a good center channel can still make your system sound bad.. what happens is a timbre mismatch makes the surround sound flow across the front be interrupted. you can do some minor stuff to reduce the problem, like move the center forward and back out of the arc with the main speakers, but you can't really correct for a bad mismatch. if you have a store that's good about taking stuff back, you might try two or three, but you'll get the best results matching things up.

I personally use an Optimus Pro LX5. It has a Linaeum dipole tweeter and a 5" woofer. I had tried some other center channel speakers and the dialogue got burried. The LX5 makes dialogue intelligable and also seems very natural sounding. The downside is that you'd have to find one used.

Also, since it's a dipole it doesn't seem as "centered" or isolated. It seems to blend with many different types of speakers.

I'm using an Athena Audition AS-C1 and it plays loud and clear, is quite efficient and handles a goodly amount of power. Best Buy seems to be having sales on the other speakers in this line so you might be able to get it for less than the normal $180US.

...Can't guarantee a perfect timbre match, though.
