Which CD to Reciever connection is preferred?

If it matters, this is for a Marantz CC4001 CD changer and a SR6001 receiver.

I have been using the analog connection, but about 50% of the CD's I play cause the receivers "PEAK" indicator to light, indicating that I should engage the amp's "ATTenuation" setting. Consequently, using a digital connection probably makes sense.

Which connection would you recommend, coaxial digital or optical digital?

Either, signal is same over both mediums.
But yea, digital would be preferred.

I would pick Coaxial because they are usually sturdier, especially the ones from Blue Jeans Cable.:D

I have the same issue with my Marantz SR5400. I have my Squeezebox connected to my CD analog connection because I'm using an external DAC.

So SB3 > Digital Coax > Maverick Audio D1 > Tube Analog > SR5400.

Seems to be fine with the att.
