Which cables to run for new plasma???

First time post here! Just bought the Panasonic TH-50PE700 from Costco and was going to mount it on the wall. At first I only planning to run the HD cable box and a DVD player to it (both HDMI) but I would like to some day add a theater system along with being able to run my newer Dell laptop to it with VGA plugs. I only want to run the cables once in my wall. Which ones should I include? I assume at least two HDMI's.
Also, any idea's for mounting height? I also bought a tilt mount with it. Most viewing will be from a couch 12 feet away. Thanks for any help or idea's you might be able to add.

For in-wall cable applications for wall mounted televisions I would run at least one HDMI cable and 3-4 RG-6 or RG-6 quad cables. In your case it is a bit different. Down the road, you will only need one HDMI cable however at the moment you will need two so run two. You will also need to run your cable for the computer, VGA.

I would do:

2-HDMI
3-4 RG-6 or RG-6 Quad
1-VGA

If the wall is exposed, sometimes it is nice to install a wire chase from the televsion's location to the location of the wall plate. Usually 2" PVC works well.

Based on sitting height whilst in a couch, I'd ballpark it at about 32" from the bottom of the panel to the ground...then work up from there if it isn't Kosher.

Run some conduit for sure so you can easily add cables down the road.

I have my display in my main room where the center is 45'' from the ground which is the same height my eyes are when setting on the couch. In the bedroom the display is 65'' to the middle of the screen and tilted down 3 degrees but I watch this while lying in the bed so the extra height is ok. Don't mount it any higher than you have to or the neck strain will take all the fun out of watching movies.
