which A/V reciever

I have two receivers Onkyo TX-SR373 which is HDMI capable and a Yamaha HTR-5890 which is non HDMI capable (and also the TV is a Samsung 4K non RCA capable) . So my question is which receiver is the better of the two to use and what is the best way to connect to my TV.Any help would be appreciated.

Almost all new audio-video gear uses HDMI, so I would go with the Onkyo. Peace and goodwill.

The Onkyo would be the better choice as it is 4k ready and has hdmi. You could use the Yamaha for audio only in a more limited fashion and bypass it for video, but if you have the Onkyo already....
