Not sure what you're budget is, but a quick google search shows the B&W setups aren't cheap...

So I'd say - Paradigm MilleniaOne.

To date, they are the best tiny speaker I've heard, understanding that they can't really play bass frequencies.

If the speakers don't have to be tiny... the PSB Imagine Mini and Imagine Mini Center could be worth a look, or even the cheaper Image B4/C4.

I'd recommend staying with a 2.1 setup and getting better main speakers. There will be too much reflected sound from the main speakers and the surrounds will only add to the auditory chaos from being in a near cubical room. Put a thick carpet and plush couch in that room to absorb some of the sound. If you get super serious, you can add acoustical treatments at the first reflection points to further control reflected sound energy.

Looking at your budget, I can recommend the Ascend Acoustics Sierra 1 bookshelf speaker. When you eventually have a full blown HT, they will make a very nice second system speaker or dedicated music setup.

From your list my recommendation stands - Focal
Paradigm - should also be nice

Acoustic Energy is available from AC4L, new in the box
for $599. I have owned Acoustic Energy speakers before
and they make good designed and engineered speakers,
that sound real good.

The more you ask the same question in different ways... the more different opinions you're going to get.

No one can tell you which is "THE" best option for you. You have a list of candidates - so you're best bet is to try and audition them, in your own home if possible, but if not, then in store somewhere.
