Where to buy

I'm looking at buying a new AV receiver for my home theater. But I don't particularly want to buy online, because I'd like to fiddle with the knobs and whatnot first. Is there anywhere within a hundred miles or so of Louisville, KY, that would have some reputable brands (Denon, Onkyo, etc (suggest some others in the $6-800 price range?)) that I could try before I buy?

Or, if I have to buy online, what place has the best return policy?

I am in Louisville. There is the standard Best Buy but also Digital Lifestyles on the corner of Shelbyville and Hurstborne.
