Guys, I am looking into buying A HSU, a Velodyne or an SVS. I have been auditioning them for a little bit now and I am very close to making a decision. If I purchase it from a retailer, it will cost me an arm and a leg. So I am looking into buying from an online dealer. I am in NJ are (07005). Does anyone have any suggestions that might help me in finding an online delaer that will give me the best prices?
Thanks guys.

I can't speak about HSU but I own an SVS and I'll say this: they aren't cheap but they are a good value. I'm rather pleased with my SB12-Plus and the finish on it is superb. Performance plus good looks is worth a few bucks. You can save $50 and get the basic black, but the real wood finishes look like fine furniture.

Hey Warpdrv,
As shown in my signature, I have Axiom M60s for mains, VP150 for center and QS8 for surround. My budget is $600, give or take. The room size is about 3500 cubic feet.
Thanks

For $600, and a room your size, I would suggest looking at eD A5-350 or MFW-15.

These are some other options at your price point, but I think they may put out more bang for the buck in your price range...

Don't get the SB12-Plus, it won't handle 3500 cubic feet (it barely handles my 1720 cubic feet, and that without subsonic bass). You need the PB12-Plus or the NSD series if you cannot swing the price of the Plus series, the downside is they are a lot bigger.

I got my SB12-Plus as B stock for $100 off the list price and it is great but not for a large room and not for subsonic bass (music is my primary interest, along with the WAF constraint). BTW it was completely unblemished, if it has cosmetic damage they describe it and even have pictures of the damage.

I have an SVS that came just last week. Nice unit, looks good, performs well. No you won't be able to get one for $300. But if you look upon it as an investment for now and the future, it does make it easier to justify doing it.
MY HT system is my hobby. And I do like my hobby. Do your research, get some good input from others, and enjoy your new toy.
