Hi there,

Just changed my old Onkyo receiver with a newer Yamaha RX-V465 receiver. It is supposed to decode truHD and DTS-HD.

Problem is .... it shows that a movies that's clearly recorded in DTS-HD is showing in ProLogic2 garbage.

My blu-ray player is Sony BDP-350.

So .... player and receiver both play TruHD and DTS-HD ...... why isn't my receiver play them? I changed different options 20 times now. What could be the problem?

connecting through HDMI cables.

Sounds like the AVR is using a DSP mode; try selecting "Standard" as a surround mode.

make sure the receiver is set to either straight, or surr. decode, and that your blu ray player is set to output bitstream, and is connected to the receiver via HDMI.

I don't have a similar player, but I know my br player has a menu option to change the audio output.

I sent my player in for service, and had to set it when I got it back. Funny thing is, I didn't have to make that selection when it was new.:D
