Hi all,

I just bought a 56" JVC HDTV (HD56FN97) which came with a free matching stand. It was a great deal and a definite upgrade from my 8+ year old 27" Magnavox. Unfortunately, my old setup had a crappy entertainment center which i could put the HUGE Onix XCS center right on top of. Now that the entertainment center is gone, I am struggling to find a place to put this thing. I could not find a speaker mount for on top of the TV that supports 33lbs of sound and not sure i would want to risk it falling off or damaging the TV anyhow. That leaves me with the only option being under the TV (fairly large window behind the TV so no wall mounting possible). This means removing the glass shelving and basically kickin out all of my components somewhere else to fit the speaker.

Long story short, has anyone come up with a good solution to this problem for their own HT setup????? All i want to do is enjoy the fruits of my labor!

I bought a 42 inch DTV and also bought a new credenza from Sauder Woodworking. The credenza has shelving below for CD, DVD, Tape, Phono, TIVO, and AV.:)

Yeah, but do you have the Onix X-CS center channel speaker in use with the credenza? It's quite a big speaker and that's what the original poster is seeking answers for.

No, I have the smaller Infinity center speaker and it fits fine on shelf in credenza.

I have the same problem. I have a Samsung 61" but same concept. When I had a smaller center I was able to rest it on top of the tv, but it's not going to work with what I am looking at getting. I am looking at the XCS as well.

Bottom line what I has planning on doing was wall-mounting it above the TV. Not sure if that would work for you. The speaker would be slightly behind the front of the TV, so it may not be optimal.

You can make or buy a small stand for in front of the TV and you aim the center at the sweet spot. The ones I have seen raise the center only high enough so you can tilt it up. Perhaps someone else has a link or two for outfits that sell these kind of speaker stands.

Go over to the AV123 forum if you havent yet...there are post your setup threads as well as one in the X forum...several ideas there.

There are people who have bigfoot mounted above their tv and it weighs 46lbs so I know there are stands out there.

My X-CS is mounted in the shelf under my tv.

you have a lot of knick knacks!

I really like the idea of replacing my home theater speakers all with something like the X-CS, but I intend to have what I have not last a few more years. It would have to be less expensive for me to jump at the opportunity.
