Where can my AVR go???

So maybe a second pair of eyes can help me find a solution to my "space" challenged room. It's a dorm room and the first pic shows the space I am working with. The door is to the right about 2 feet of space,and the desk is up to the wall on the left. Also is a side view of the depth of the desk and TV. The unit is the Pioneer 1018. It's to deep to put up where the cable box and ps3 is now. The TV would be almost falling off if I move it up to fit the unit there. Thats where I thought It would go at first. Also the desk is Air Force property so I cant simply get something else...lame
So Any suggestions would be great .

Looks like from the pics that the "leg-space" for the desk is being used for CD/DVD storage? Could you move that elsewhere - like to the left of the desk - and set the AVR in that space - perhaps sitting on a box or something to elevate it a bit from the floor?
