Try your local pawn shops because you would be amazed at some of the nice electronic gear that "finds" it's way into those places. You could also give Ebay a try. I have seen many good subs on sale there for reasonable prices. I hope this helps you out. Happy listening.:)

$200 isn't a lot for a sub, but like I've said on many posts before, you budget is what it is. So, with that in mind, you could look at this Mirage. It's on clearance at audioadvisor:

http://www.audioadvisor.com/store/productdetail.asp?sku=MIRLF100&product_name=LF-100 8" 100 WRMS Subwoofer

If you can stretch a little, the next up from that is only $249. For those $50 extra bucks, you get a 10" driver as well as 150W continuous vs. 100W:

http://www.audioadvisor.com/store/productdetail.asp?sku=MIRLF150&product_name=LF-150 10" 150 WRMS Subwoofer

Hope this helps some.

Sony and Yamaha both make $200 subs that aren't bad for the price. You won't get a real heavy-hitter for that price, but you can get something usable. Used can also be a good option, providing you find a trustworthy seller.

That Wharfdale is offered in other colors as well. I would go that route.

First of all, Parts Express isn't a bad word, just Parts Express with the ".com" after it. Secondly, most people don't understand 1337.

I've never heard the cheap Dayton one from Parts Express, but I've been told it's a pretty decent unit from several who've bought one. Probably well worth the money.

1337? What????
"733T Speak" Is the Internet slang favored by gamers and hacker-wannabe's. Numbers serve as replacements for letters (3=E, 7=L, 4=A or sometimes H, 1=I, 5=S, 6=G, 0=O), The dollar sign "$" is an "S", but only when talking about MicroSoft (ie. M$), and 8 replaces the letters "ate", such as "1 h8 M$" (I Hate Microsoft).

In addition to that, you add the AOL chatroom-spawned letter dropping and poor grammar, and you wind up with '733T', or (E)lite. B3c4u53 P30p73 w40 c4n r34d th1s n0t 0n7y n33d t0 g3t 741d, but 47s0 th1nk th4t th3y b370n6 t0 s0m3 br0th3rh00d 0f h4rdc0r3 c0mput3r h4ck3r5.

Thus 1337 is just gibberish and the joke about jaxvon insulting my mother (see Kennedy's "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech).

And anyone know anything about the BIC America V1220 12" sub? It can be had for under $200. Its 200 watts with a freq. response of 23 to 180hz.
Looks impressive for the price. It has a 325 watt BASH amp, whatever that is and a 7 year warranty. Not sure how BIC can do that.
Here's some people who did buy it and their reviews:

Here's a great thread on the BIC vs HSU subs:

Hope that helps.
