Where can I find cheap speaker stands?

I am not paying for anything labeled Bose, Monster or Sony at Fry's. I automatically know I'm paying too much.

I know about Craigslist. Shipping on E-bay costs too much. What (besides pawn shops?) am I overlooking?

I've got a few satellites (HTTiB) + computer speakers that should be at ear level. I want to make it so but on the cheap.

http://www.racksandstands.com and http://www.standsandmounts.com are just two examples of online vendors that specialize in AV stands, speaker stands, and the like. You can find a wide variety and choices between price and 'quality' (better materials, stronger construction, etc).

Another option is the one I've been using lately and that is your local 'Furniture in the Raw' type place that will build custom furniture out of real wood. Ironically, they are often cheaper than off the shelf solutions but the downside is increased waiting time. My Furniture in the Raw usually quotes 4 -6 weeks to build it.

I used a set of OmniMount Sat2 speaker stands for my old mains for a while until I could afford nicer stands. They were $50 for the pair on sale at Abt. They looked decent and worked fine. Amazon has them for $60, but I've seen them cheaper if you look around.

I just picked up a pair of 30" stands from studiotech. They are very sturdy and all metal construction, plus you can fill them with sand or lead shot to deaden any vibrations. Although if you just need them for htib (I'm assuming they're small cubes or satellites) you can just go with studiotech's G5s. $69 free shipping

Thanks to all for suggestions.

To me, cheap = <$30. My apologies for not stating that. I'm well aware that many stands go into the hundreds/thousands of dollars.

That Monoprice stuff seems perfect. These are for (not even) $30 speakers with plastic cabinets. I didn't even think about Monoprice. Duh... I get cables from them all the time.

Go to Ebay and put "Sanus speaker stand" in the search box and you'll come up with a pair of 31" stands that are sold by Buy.com for 30.99 with free shipping. I only have 2 posts here, so I can't cut and paste web addresses yet. I bought a pair and recieved them within 4 days of ordering them.
