I looked at pics of the insides of the Denon X1800H and I am pleased to see they finally moved the location of the transformer out from underneath the big PC board, which was just an insane thing to do.
A bunch of the older budget receivers did that. If my old electronics mentor was alive, he would have been writing emails to any company stupid enough to do that. We had an old TV that had the audio amp, which was an IC and a couple of pretty low wattage transistors, on a PC board that was about an inch over one of the tubes on the chassis. It failed over and over again until the TV repair guy, who was a friend of my dad's, made an umbilical cable up and moved the PC board over about 15" to the left side of the cabinet, which was empty. No more problems.
