When Too Much is Just Too Much

I don't mind spending a lot of money on stuff I like in my quest to get the best format (ie: SACD) for the best SQ, so I was browsing the net last night and came across this item on Amazon:

I love this Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays CD, "September Fifteen" is one of my favorites compositions, and I wouldn't mind buying the best format available out there of this CD, but I can't justify this exorbitant price....what are they thinking????...if I were to pay the asking price for this item, they better include a sample of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays mane

If you look it up on amazon, you'll come across a whole bunch of offers of the same album. This one being a Japanese issue which might be an improved version (remastered probably) doesn't justify the price tag on it....it's ludicrous!!!!... so I don't see the point....the most I have paid for a SACD was 50 dollars (Wham!'s Make it Big, Japanese issue), and I don't think I'd go above that in the future for any other release even if I want it real bad.

that is a 24 carat gold disc though, c'mon guys, it's so worth the asking price, for all 5 of those songs.

It's out of print and a Japanese import. It's strictly a collector's item.

I ran across this issue here and it says the label is Universal Japan. Not sure if it is the same version but it is a whole hell of a lot cheaper.

Look up Tower records in Shibuya ,Tokyo and they will sell you whatever they have by mail........
