When it Rains, it Pours

Seriously, I have no life.
We have been hearing about the luxurious lifestyle of Justice Thomas provided by a billionaire "friend".
Now we hear even more that was a direct financial transaction between Thomas and the friend, real estate transaction in 2014 for mother, a reportable transaction that
was not reported.
Keep it coming reporters.

And now Sen. Whitehouse: Thomas should be referred to DOJ for failure to disclose home sale to GOP billionaire.
Here we go. Another first in nation history.

One wonders if the other 8 Supreme Court justices aren't targets of similar investigations?

We'll find out if Harlan Crow is acting alone, or if there are other 'friends of the court'.

It would really surprise me if there weren’t any ongoing.

Harlan Crow have been showering Thomas with lavish gifts and expensive vacations for about two decades, with none the wiser. Even money changed hands with Crow buying the house his mother lives in, for free apparently. What else have journalists missed over the decades for other justices?

We'll find out if Harlan Crow is acting alone, or if there are other 'friends of the court'.
There where other people targeting the Supreme Court Justices, like we saw reported last year.

Is it a coincidence this time that both judges, Thomas and Alito, are conservatives? But I'm sure other justices have accepted trips and trinkets that they should have disclosed at least. In any case, your Supreme Court should have cleaned up its act a long time ago, so perhaps someone else should force them to as they seem incapable of it themselves.

I am just learning that in 1969 Justice Abe Fortas resigned instead of being impeached. A first.
Now it is time for a repeat performance of just resigning as impeachment would not start in the house in today's environment.

I saw that in this YouTube clip below, including about his wife. I can assure you that the 16 members of the Swedish Supreme Court are quite anonymous and generally not well known by the public.

There're three properties, not one, bought by Harlan Crow, where the textualist Supreme Court Justice Thomas believes he didn't have to disclose sales because he lost money on the deal. Really? :snicker:

Perhaps Thomas reduced his claimed "losses" by these property sales? Did he take a tax deduction on his "losses"?

Boggles the mind that a Supreme Court Justice makes such a dumb excuse. And, of course, it's the aides fault.

>>>...The deal between Thomas and Harlan Crow, a Dallas real estate magnate and long-time friend of Thomas, involves the sale of three Georgia properties, including the home where Thomas’ mother, Leola Williams, 94, currently lives.

The source said Thomas has always filled out his forms with the help of aides, and that it was an oversight not to report the real estate transaction. Thomas believed he didn’t have to disclose because he lost money on the deal, according to the source. ...<<<

And he is on the highest court in the land?
He belongs somewhere as an intern. I guess he is just a figure head on the court taking up time and space.
