Please list brand, model, and price. Try to keep under $3000 for a pair. I do not know if Dynaudio & JMLab have models in this price range, but I listed in the poll because I know they are some of the best.

Spendor S5e, $1649/pair retail, 200w/c. Liked them better than their bigger brothers (S6e and S8e), and way more than the Def Tecs, Vandersteens, and Tannoys I auditioned. I liked the B&W 703s alot, but not as much as the Spendors. Be advised-the Spendors are not terribly loud, but they throw tons more bass than a cabinet volume this low should permit. I love'em.

Bryan...good thing I have a fairly small room...

A pair of M&K S150s are hard to beat, my opinion.

Had to put in vote for B&W 703's. $3000 retail.

VMPS RM 2's. I believe in Listener magazine they were chosen over some of the ones you listed. Either way they're a true bargain for the money with real honest bass into the twenties and planar mids that sound outstanding.

Nothing a trip to Santa's lap can't fix! :D

The Studio 100's are worth yearning for...they are excellent speakers!

Another vote for the B&W 703

Stunning looks and sound...both are important to me.

Auditioned them but couldn't afford them($3K)...had to settle for the Polk LSi15
at $1500. Another great speaker...better than the Def Techs, Cantons and Paridgms I listened to in that price range (IMO), but couldn't hang with the 703's...

There are many good brands, but now in my wishlist are the Energy Connoisseur C-5 or C-7, at $1,000 and $1,200 respectively and the Paradigms Monitor 7 or Monitor 9 for about the same price range. I think those (Energy and Paradigm) are the best bang for the buck.

Onix RS750 Sigs.

I listened to everything under $4,000 at all 3 of my local dealers and ended up prefering these to everything else. Though I did hear some speakers at over $9,000 I did like more...they were just a tad over my budget. :( ;)

I won't have the 750's for long though as I will more than likely upgrade to the Onix RS850's or RS1000's.

Karats M80's

Ive auditioned tons in my own listening room and I have to give the edge to the Canton M80's :) M60's are great too for little less money. Id have to put the Paradigm Studio 100's in a very close second.

Legacy Audio Classic

So far, my favorite speaker around $3k and one that I hope to have in the next couple of years is the Legacy Audio Classic. Simply awesome. I have yet to hear anything in the $3k range that even comes close. It's got two 10in bass drivers, a 7in mid range driver, and ribbon and soft dome tweeters.
This speakers has very nice detailed highs along with a truly incredible mid range. Bass? Unbelievable. This speaker does every thing I like in a speaker. I like "big" sound but I often find that many of the speakers that acheive this really lack tight bass and clean mids and tend to have very shrill highs. Not so with this speaker. If you have not heard this speaker, go out a listen to it if possible. It may not be your kind of sound but it will impress with what it does.

dBX Soundfield V's

Inexpensive if you can find them. Decent Butterworth 2nd order crossover. Big 15 inch woofer that can handle 16 Hz (-6dB) and a ribbon tweeter that can climb to 22 kHz. The only problems are the speaker connections are those dreaded spring loaded clips. Particle board instead of MDF, but solidly built nontheless. And Heavy too.
