What's the difference between the SVS PB12-NSD/2 ($899), PB12 plus ($949) and the PB12 Ultra 2 ($1199)?? The less expensive PB12-NSD/2 has 2 drivers while the other 2 are single driver designs. Wouldn't 2 drivers put out more spl?? Since the drivers would not be working as hard (because there are 2) would it be correct to say that it would be more accurate or tight sounding? Is the main difference the quality of the cabinets? Thanks for your help.:)

The difference is going to be the rated low frequency extension. You should send an email to SVS and ask them directly (include your room dimensions and your music preferences). They respond very quickly to emails.

Those three subs use three different drivers. The NSD is the low end driver, the plus the midgrade, and the ultra their top driver. The main difference is the quality of the drivers, not the cabinets (they come in textured black too).

The higher lines also get bigger, beefier amps.

The NSD/2 will not be more accurate or tight, but it may be louder than the other 2.

The NSD/2 is huge - an end table if you will. Should you require big bass to fill a large room, and are on a budget - that may be the sub for you. The new single PB12/NSD has received great reviews and it's most likely from being a front firing sub. The NSD/2 is downfiring.

The PB12 Ultra/2 has dual downfiring subs. They start at $1999, not $1199. The PB12 Ultra has a single downfiring sub, which is the one I think you referring to.

The PB12 Ultra and PB12-Plus have the same parametric 525 watt Bash amps. The NSD/2 uses a 600 watt Bash amp to power dual drivers. Amplification may not mean as much if the two NSD drivers are more sensitive than the Plus or Ultra drivers. You can't go by watts alone when driving speakers. SVS subs normally have way more than enough power to reach driver limits.

The NSD and Plus drivers were recently redesigned last year. They are much improved versions of the older drivers. There is a new 13.5" Ultra driver. It may be the cat's meow, but priced accordingly. I'm anxious to read some reviews.

What size if your room, and where are you planning on putting this sub? These are large subs, so make a mock up build of the size to make sure you have the room.
