I currently have an Onkyo TXSV70PRO, circa 1994(?). It has served me well running CD players, VCR's DVD's and TV's thru it every day for 10+ years. I'm starting to look at a replacement and see posts and reviews saying Onkyo and others have slipped in quality. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what might be equivalent to what I now have. Watch a lot of HDTV broadcast in 5.1 and listen to CD music. I record a lot of the concerts and music digitally on the HD channels for playback. I know I might sound uniformed, that's because I am. I will be relearning everything I learned from 10 years ago - then forgot because the Onkyo I bought was a perfect fit.
Thanks for any input. Any different manufacturer would be appreciated also.

Price range or is that a factor? My guess would be that something like the new TX-SR703 might be about equivalent, though I am not familiar with that particular model.
