What to do... Need real help!

Need help deciding what to do with my setup.

DLP56 Samsung.
Denon 3805/3806 (Looking)
NHT m6 l/c/r/
NHT in ceiling 2 pairs center and backs.

Room is 22 x 20 open to another area
ceiling is 12 feet.

total cubic is 9000 plus.

What sub do I use?

It is a great rooom but without enclosure what is proper.

Obviously the bigger the better. But since it is not controlled should I just go for something that works within the sitting area? Can I ignore the rest of the area?

The sitting area is about 5000 cubic. I am 11 feet from the TV.
Do I need a dual 15 earthquake as I am being recommended?

I would say around the 2-3k prefer less but I am already considering a $2500 earthquake 15 dual act/pas.

Hmm, I think at that price, I would be looking at a pair of SVS subs.

Perhaps a pair of PB12-Plus/2 subs or maybe a pair of passive SVS cylinder subs with an amp for each one (extra headroom is good).

You might also consider a pair of Def Tech SuperCube Is.

I would think a pair of PB12-Ultras could be done for under $3K. That would be a stunning Movie/Music setup.

Nice choice of mains. I really liked the M6s.

SVS also offers a dual CS-Ultra package for $2100 here (right sidebar). That should be able to handle a room that size. You can shoot them an e-mail and describe your room to them; they'll help you figure out exactly what it is that will meet your needs. They have excellent customer service.

Can I make the radical suggestion of using the subwoofers that were designed for your speakers, the U1 or U2?

A single PB12-Plus/2 will work fine for you. I can't imagine that you would need more. If you did, then 2 of them will blow away the earthquake you are considering.
