well,i dont really have a high standart on sub but still want a good one, not really but $500-$600 is the budget.
From what ive read in this forum, svs got fairly good reviews and im looking at the pb10-nsd, could this be a good sub,im mean this is the cheapest one they got.
can it be good compare to my $700 home theater sub out of a box system?
as of my sub im using right now is shitty, when something that is loud it sounds like it wanna blow and rattles, so basicly i want something that have good lows and smooth.
Another one i had in mind. I got a chance to listen to the klipsch sub12 in bestbuy and i love it, how would you guys compare svs pb10-nsd to klipsch sub12?

So what makes a good sub?
klipsch:12'' sub and 650 power vs
SVS: 10'' sub and 300 power
Does this spec matters?

sorry to bomb u with a page of questions.

I don't know what you mean by this. If you have an RCA sub out, any SVS sub will work for you. If you need to run the sub with speaker level inputs, the PB10-NSD will not work, but the PB12-NSD has speaker level inputs.

I would imagine that any SVS sub will be better than just about any HTIB sub. I've been through 3 HTIB's and never really found good bass.

thanks for correcting, i do believe i have a RCA out to sub connection, so what is my option in svs?
What i mean by the Y connection is the one that have L/R,you know the one that is usally black and red.
well just by looking at the picture, that does look like a rca connection, but what are all those black and red knobs for?
the pb10 doesnt have em but the pb12 does.

Those are speaker level connections. You can also get an HSU VTF-3 MKII for $612 shipped.

sub

The SVS is probably just built a little better; bigger-heavier box and probably has a better port design. I am pretty certain that they both use the same BASH amp. Klipsch just says theirs is 650 watts but they are talking peak power. I purchased the Klipsch sub-12 and kept it for 3 days; it seemed ok but wasnt enough for my giant room. It does look like people have had issues with the life of the product so that may scare me a bit. I would go for the SVS or HSU; you will be happy.

ok, thanks for that. That brings me down to the pb12nds and the pb12nds/2 and i have two question for it.

1.Between those 2 subs,will it be a $300 difference in sound quailty?

lets say if you walk into a room and just by listening to it can you point em out which sub is in use?

2. What exactly is the speaker level connection? I got all my speaker hook up to my ht, will i still need it?

1. How big is your room? How much do you like bass? At this point it's personal preference and environment.

2. If you have an RCA sub out connection, you don't need speaker level connections.

Well, i dont know the exact mesurement of my living room but is pretty compact i guess, about 15 x 18 feet.
I love low low bass alot actually, but how much of bass difference are you talking about pb12 = loud? and pb12/2 = earthquake?

Im the kind of person that always ask for more. Do you think i should just play it safe and go with the big boys?
Thank for answering, for that it will guide me to my future sub i think.

I can't answer that exactly because my PB12-Plus is still on a truck somewhere and I won't get it until about Wednesday. The good thing about a bigger sub is that you can always turn it down.

The PB 12/2 may be a bit of overkill...but it depends on how much you like to spend money and how much bass you want. My guess is that it will = earthquake in a room that size.
My SVS 25-31PCi runs the 12in NSD driver and has no problem filling 3000 cubic feet with very solid bass.

I had a similar budget and picked the HSU VTF 2 mk3. $499 right now.
