What receiver to use

I am trying to build a surround sound system for my basement. I have 2 Paradigm ADP-350 for sides, Studio 20 V1 for main fronts a CC V2 and a Servo 15a.

I currently have an Onkyo TX-SR607 with Klipsch Synergy surround speakers in my family room. And I like Onkyo.

I was thinking about something like the the TX-SR876 or a newer SR-808 or 807for the basement setup with the Paradigm speakers.

I am not interested in 3-D but want 7.1 surround and plenty of power to enjoy the Speakers for just playing music or HD movies.

Any thoughts, from looking at these two they seem to be from slightly different vintage. The 876 a good midrange with plenty of power with all the goodies except 3-d. The 808 being current model, somewhat less power with 3-d similar features otherwise for close to the same price.

It almost seems like the 876 is the right choice for me. Just worried about buying used.

I appreciate any insight you can provide. I really don't know what I am doing but very eager to learn.

If the 876 is in good condition, I'd prefer it over the other two if has all the features you want/need.

Thanks for the response. Is the 876 enough to drive these speakers? Eventually I would kike to get some studio 100's or 60's and use the 20's for rear speakers.

I see some posts that suggest an external amp to provide more power to the mains and center speaker. Don't know if I would need that now or maybe if I get larger mains in the future.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for any insight.

The 876 will definitely power your current setup, and even the 100s. But I'd personally use a separate amp for the 100s.

If I'm not mistaken b'ween 876 and 806 is that former has proper video up-sampling, while latter provides only basic passthru.
If you want more power and going "vintage" isn't issue for you - seek out for used 805 - thou it does heats up - it's has tons of powah :D
I don't have the specs for these speakers, but if they are 8ohm and above 85 impedance would should be fine with AVR alone, but they rated at 4 you should get amp
