What makes this CD so expensive

I think, because they used 24k gold plating instead of aluminum to store the data but that's just my guess Walter. I couldn't find how many where made of the 24k discs since it say's it's a limited edition sorry for not being as helpful as possible.:(

This is what it looks like hope it helps a little. But even with the Gold I still can picture myself buying a $500 CD

It could be out-of-print. You'd be surprised how much hard to find music can cost, especially if it was originally a limited production run with few discs made.

I paid $60 to buy a copy of King Kobra III off Ebay a few years ago. I had seen it for sale at $270 so I got a relatively good deal.

Tommy Shaw (of Styx) first CD with the song 'Girls with Guns' is long out of print and hard to find and I've seen it go for nearly $400. I got lucky on that one too, got it for about $30, but it is the re-release on a different label and not the 'original' version.

Yeah, plenty of sellers will rape you on pricing for out of print albums (or games or books or whatever).

I have a few cds that sell for several times what I paid for them, but nothing near $400 :O
