Buying a new AV Receiver to connect to 60" Panasonic GT50Plasma, 3D wifi blue ray, direct TV, apple TV. What type of HDMI cables are recommended ? Been on monoprice and don't know the difference in some of the sub categories and benefits or limitations of them. THanks

Just get a quality cable. They won't be expensive. If your runs are under 30' you just need a standard cable.

what about high speed HDMI or HDMI with "red mere", etc. And what about different diameter or shaped cables ? Does length affect signal transmission. Need either 6' cable or 9' at max.

The redemere cables are great simply because of how thin and flexible they are. The normal cables work fine though.

Here's an old picture I took to compare two 6' cables:

I was thinking the same thing. It took me a while to cough up the ~$20 for a Monoprice RedMere cable for myself (I bought my parents one without blinking...but gifts are different :)), but I'm glad that I got it. Wow, it's so much thinner and easier to work with.

Italian, these are digital cables. They transmit data, not waveforms. As long as the data gets from end to the other, that's all you need. Go to Monoprice and choose one in the length you need. That's all there is to it.
