What is your thoughts on Iso Acoustic pucks?

Based on reviews, they seem to do perform well for what they are designed to do, but I'm wondering how much better are they when you can make something yourself from a hardware store for a lot less than 4 Iso Acoustic Gaia pucks at $500.

That thread has a lot of discussion. Short answer: isolation does work, but spending that kind of stupid money on it isn't. There are simple and effective ways to do it.

There are other areas you can spend that kind of money on that would offer you a lot more in the way of improvements than those overpriced isolation pucks. Hell, that's half decent subwoofer money.

I've never heard a puck so it wouldn't occur to me to spend any money on them. If you want to spend $500 on your system put it in the kitty for a good subwoofer. Nothing, repeat nothing, will put more life into your home theater than a subwoofer.
