Just curious about what kind of setup users in this forum have and how happy or how proud they are about it. About how much did it cost you?

Harman Kardon AVR354 (just upgraded)
Cambridge Soundworks (center)
Klipsch RF-35 (main) (just upgraded)
Mirage Omnisat v2 Satellite (surround)
Cervin Vega E712 (surround back)
Velodyne 10 inch (subwoofer) (very good)

about $2200. 3years to built, Good system. Enjoy every second of it. Wife is stunned and friends are impressed. Love this Hk receiver.

Hey boubi,

Welcome to the forum. :)
You gotta check out the Members Systems Gallery:

http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13

There was a poll asking how much people had spent on their main system. Hopefully somebody will know where to find that and post a link.

I think I'm into it to the tune of 4G now but that's mostly because of a Panny Plasma we bought recently.

Alex

Edit: Some members list their gear in their sig. which can be accessed through User CP.
You can make it discrete or you can suck up some real

SPACE! :D

like Jammie. :D

What kind of system and how much?

I'm afraid to even ask.

Some members have a lot money and their systems include the $15K Denon AVP/POA combo + $50K speaker systems and much more.

Some members are surgeons.

Yeah, they have some money.:D

IIRC 50% of the folks who responded to the poll had $7,500 in their systems. That's displays too and there was a nicely laid out guide line suggesting that you not give your laser disc player full MSRP value.

Everything I've got is in my signature... Next to the 2808 which just replaced the Sony but since I'm visiting friends right now and haven't had time to play with it I haven't switched it in yet.

Only down sides to the new receiver, now I need a new audio rack, it doesn't fit in my stand  I really want that Blu Ray player now:rolleyes: It's time for a speaker upgrade to truly show it off:p and last but not least, I don't have any money because I just dumped a ton into my jeep because it needed it

hello all......i guess i'll make this my first post:D

i just completed my HT system and i just got a replacement/upgraded lcd tv from samsung. i've been remodelling my family room since jan of this year and i haven't finished yet. i think i'm @ 90% completed.

as of today i'm now running 5 outlaw monoblocks. i originally had only 2 monoblocks which drove my front towers and then i used a rotel rmb-1075 to drive my centre channel and rears. reason i decided to add another 3 monoblocks was that i felt that i wasn't utilizing the potential of the rotel.

here's my new set up anyways.......oh and it sounds incredible :p

1 - paradigm studio 100v3's
2 - paradigm cc590
3 - paradigm studio 20v4's
4 - paradigm ps1200 sub
5 - 5 x outlaw audio m2200 monoblocks
6 - rotel rcd 1072
7 - xbox360 elite
8 - sony ps3
9 - samsung 46" 850 series lcd tv
10 - panamax 5400pm surge protector.
11 - xbox hd dvd player
12 - bello stands
13 - cymax audio cabinet

i'm going to sell both the rotel amp and cd player. i'm going to use a rotel rdv 1080 instead for my music and dvd's. my wife says i know how to waste money, so she's not 100% happy with my new hobbie/obsession. :(

i think in total, i've spent @ $10k, inclu the tv...................i guess i can't post pics either :( :(

My rig is in my sig. About $8500 and that's using used prices on some of the gear...it sounds and looks great. Any upgrades now are BIG financial decisions....speakers, display, subwoofers, prepro. This hobby is tough on the pocketbook when you don't make a lot of scratch to start with..........

and yeah, the giant sigs are kind of a pain........each post takes up half a page in a thread...

My music-only system is 100% Cambridge Audio. I have the 340C CD player, 340A amp, and S30 speakers. This system has only two limitations: it cannot play really loud, and it does not put out powerful bass. Since these limitations are desireable for apartment living, and since it sounds absolutely fantastic in all other respects, it is the perfect system for me. Total cost was $1000.

My HT uses a $350 Yamaha reciever and a pair of $800 Def Tech BP8Bs. At one time, I was using the 8Bs as surrounds and 10Bs up front, but I have decided that it sounds at least as good to me with the 8Bs on their own with "virtual surround" mode engaged. (Indeed, I have had it up to 5.1 with matching Def Tech center and sub, but I still prefer the 2.0 arrangement!) I plan to sell the 10Bs if I can find a local buyer (they are too big and heavy for shipping!)

I am now set for life except, possibly, adding good headphones.

My gear is in my signature. Money??? Yeah, lots of it, but all my mistakes have managed to create a really nice bedroom system as well, not to mention the deals my friends and neighbors got.

My stuff's in my signature.

I would say I spent about $5,000 for everything. I am truely happy with the way everything sounds and looks. I couldn't of imagined I'd have what I do at 26 when I was runnin the streets at 15.

My HT system in my family rm is in my sig. Like a lot of old guys, I have a 2-channel music system in my living rm, and another vintage system in my bedroom. My oldest stuff is in my workshop, with one more in my motorhome. A couple of intermediate systems have gone to daughters. After 45 years in this mental illness/er/ hobby, you'll probably have at least this much, too.;)
