What Is This Thing?

I seem to remember this accessory came with a VHS or other device purchased long ago, what is it used for?
No identifying marks on it.

Agreed. They were pretty commonly supplied with VCR's when they came out and a lot of people were still using older TV's that didn't have the co-axial cable connection.

Ah...technology marches on.
