What is Reasonable Speaker Wire Pricing?

Just bought some speakers, sub and a receiver at Hi Fi Buys.

Also at Hi Fi Buys bought some some speaker wire for $40 (30 feet, Audioquest), then another needed cable for the subwoofer for $40 (connects to the receiver), and then got sold on a fancy surgeprotector for $60 (Powermax- has noisefiltering fucntion and a "Protect or Disconnect" fucntion for power surges).

Do these numbers sound reasonable? Im so so ok with having a good surgeprotector, but not sold on the pricing on sub cable and the speaker wire for $40 each.

What do you all think?

Check out Blue Jeans Cable. www.bluejeanscable.com

I purchase this BJC Twelve White (5000UE) (White jacket, 12 AWG) at 0.40 a foot

Yea, I was going to say the same thing. I wouldnt pay that much for speaker wire.

The blue jeans is a good way to go. I bought mine at Lowes, and I paid about the same. I think it was between .37-39/ft for 12AWG wire, but same diff.

Mine was regular looking speaker wire though with the semi-clear covering, and not the white jacket.

Somewhat expensive cables. Home Depot has the speaker cables for less, as a number of others. Same for that sub cable. Return it and just buy a video cable, or interconnect, any cable with RCA connectors on it will do.

Speaker wire

If you neet lots of inwall wire, considering buying by the Belden speaker wire in bulk from Westlake Electronic Supply. The Belden 5000UP is 12 AWG and about 20 cents a foot.
