A & B are speaker output options. Say A is for you front speakers B is for your speakers you setup on the back porch. Hope that helps. Thier are more creative ideas.

No kidding! I have always found that using another set of fronts is a nice way to grab some extra soundstage and efficiency... I think something like a 6db increase in output if your receiver will run them all four at high power (4 ohms)

Just another option that IMO sounds way better than 2 speakers:cool:

Receiver power.

FYI,
Most receivers are designed to power the A OR B speakers and not A AND B. Many low end receivers will shut down with a 4 ohm load.

A and B speaker outputs

The A/B speaker outputs are also useful for making a direct comparison between two sets of speakers. It makes it easy to compare attributes between them "on the fly".

My Yamaha receiver will keep the sub running on both A and B. I only have speakers hooked up to A, so I can hear what the sub is outputting by itself by switching over to B.

I wish my 7.8 Integra had A & B, because I would like to use my Integra as a pre-amp for 2.1 set-up, and also have a 5.1 setup using my integra for surround, of different speakers all in the same room. This can be accomplished buy having only one set of fronts connected to A, and nothing to B, so buy going to B, no sound , and when you turn on the power amp only the 2.1 set of speakers can be heard. If that makes sense to you. I think they are doing away with A & B speakers option In the new recievers coming out. Too Bad!
