Hi just a quick rant about a uk magazine Whathifi I bought, full of completely subjective reviews and comments about the hifi products without any refernce to any scientific or engineering analyisis of the products specification to backup it up. I joined there forum and posted some ciritism about the complete lack of scientific or engineering analysis to back up any of what they say, and guess what they barred me from the Forum. A bit pathetic realy and says it all about them cant stand critisism. This seems to be a much better site applying sound enginerring analysis to product reviews. Excellent, Keep it up.

What you did is like making Jesus jokes. Some people have no sense of humor when their religion is challenged.

I mostly lurk on Audio Asylum. I thought it was really telling that, in the cables forum, discussing double blind testing is verboten.

A lot of publications hesitate to call BS on voodoo because they know which side their bread is buttered on. However, if you carefully read John Atkinson's measurement sidebars and reviews on Stereophile, you can pretty much figure out what he really thinks.

Yes, it's unfortunate that most if not all British mags have gone this way and I haven't bought a paper mag in several years (British or otherwise) because of it. It seems to be a trend though; just take a look at the majority of the posts over on the UK based avforums.com (maybe this attitude is so widespread now that it's feeding off of itself like one big feedback loop :D ).

There is at least one UK forum that is more technically minded - that's http://www.avtalk.co.uk/forum/
