What Does This Mean?

Well, we are new here and need some education, we are very confused about this Yamaha RX-V765 AV receiver. We thought we did some good research on this AV receiver, my wife and I purchased, but after looking over the manual, there's a sentence in it that confuses us. On page 79 under notes, it reads "This unit is not compatible with the audio commentary features ( for example, the special audio contents downloaded via Internet) of Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD. This unit does not play back the audio commentaries of the Blu-ray Disc of HD DVD contents."
Now the way we are reading this, it sounds to us like this AV receiver will not play Blu-ray Discs from our Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-ray player. Are we reading this correct? Many thanks for your time and help on this matter. Have a super great weekend!

Don't worry. That receiver can decode the audio from your blu-ray player, including the latest lossless audio codecs (such as Dolby TrueHD). I can't give you much info on the specifics of what it can't do, as I'm not familiar with downloaded audio commentaries. For just watching movies and such, you'll be just fine.

Just let us know if you have any questions about setting it up, or if you run into any issues.

ADAM! Thank you so much for taking the time to help educate us, you have helped relieve the lump in our stomachs. Once our new HDTV arrives we may have to take you up on setting up our AV receiver, Blu-ray player, DirectTV HD DVR and our HDTV. Once again, many thanks and have a super great weekend and please stay safe out there! :)

I believe your question was answered here:

This is really not a receiver issue. What the manual is trying to say clumsily is that when you bitstream HD audio to your receiver from a BD or HD DVD player you cannot hear any secondary audio sources (such PiP). This has nothing to do with the receiver, it's due to the fact that when the player sends the compressed bitstream it is totally untouched and it is unable to mix the secondary audio.
