What does everyone think of the new Onkyo 803?

I just noticed that Onkyo has updated their website with the info on the new 803. It appears to be equipped like the Denon 3806 with HDMI switching and not upconverting/transcoding. I just wondered how Onkyo is regarded around here and if anyone would compare this new model to the 3806 or even the Yamaha or Pioneer models.

I just selected the Onkyo TX-SR803 on your poll BuckeyeFan. Not too many regulars around here know much about Onkyo (other than myself). I've been waiting for Onkyo to post the manuals for the 703 and 803 so I can see what has changed from the last model run.

Looks good on paper. However, the only thing is that it looks like it'll do composite to s-video to component conversion but not into HDMI... Could be issue, could not be an issue.

That said, I have the 801 and it's a great piece. I've had it since they first came out and have had absolutely no issues with it. For HT use, it's a great unit for the price. For music, I feel it could be better.
