I was just looking around online and I came accross these receivers by BA. They look fantastic, have some nice stats, and are as heavy as darn heck at around 50 lbs a pop. The prices seem really good at $2000 and $1400 off respectively, and since I hadn't seen them on the site I figured I'd post them for everyone to look at. Let me know what you think.

Read some reviews, pretty positive.

It might be worth checking the D/A converter specifications on these receivers. They should be in the manual. Look for a 24 bit D/A converter, >100 dB S/N and dynamic range, 20 Hz - 20 kHz THD <0.1%, 0 dB. This should be standard nowadays.

Those receivers should be powerful enough for low distortion at reference level playback at around 6 metres or so sitting distance from the (~90 dB sensitivity) speakers.

Boy, I'd be ticked if I paid 3k and saw it one sale for 1k. Serious clearance.

Specs look good. Don't know that I like the look of them and have no idea regarding the build quality and reliability.

Onecall also has the Yammie 5990 for the same price as the BA7120. They look like they match up pretty evenly. Although, I don't know whether the BA has a 192kHz / 24-bit D/A converter. For sure the BA exceeds Buckeyefan's 33+ pounds To-Be-Good receiver requirement!!

Tempting.

The 7120 is already gone, glad I saw it when I did.
