I am trying to build a home theater system with Niles DS6.3 in ceiling speakers with a Yamaha RX-V1000 or a Pioneer VSX52TX. I also want to install one pair of speakers in my bedroom and one pair on my patio. Both of these receivers have second zone outputs that will work for my needs. what I need to know is:
Do you need a second amp for this to work and if so what would you suggest?
Does the Pioneer have lipsync compensation like the Yamaha? I am going to use a Pioneer Plasma or Toshiba DLP display.
Can you connect more than one subwoofer to these amps. I would like to put a sub in the den and one in my bedroom. Thanks alot for any info.

Those speakers should work very nicely for your home theater. I know that Niles produces a quality product.

Have you read other threads regarding zoning setups? I'm not familiar with the receivers, but I can research.

Neither of the receivers offer lip sync compensation. Are you sure about the Yamaha model #. It's an older unit with only 5 channels of amplification (5.1). It would require a separate amp for the 2nd zone. If your HT is 5.1, then the rear channels of the Pioneer could be used to power the second zone. Most of the current mid-fi receivers offer this feature. Is the receiver a new purchase, if so, do you have a budget in mind?

None of these receivers offer a sub connection for zone 2. Though you could use the speaker level ins & outs of the sub to add it into the bedroom if you are using in-room speakers. The wiring to do this using in-wall/ceiling speakers would be a nightmare but not impossible.
