It's run by a gentleman named Klaus Schwab. Some love him, some think he's the devil. They have Al Gore on their board so one has to come to there own conclusions. Anyway, membership is $620,000 per year. If you earn over 500,000 per year, you are in the 1%. Safe to say they are the elite. As Carlin used to say, "its a big club and you ain't in it".
