I have a set of ceiling mounted Speaker Crafts in my garage that are driven from my Home Theater receiver. The set is one of 6 sets throughout my house. My problem....The music I get from the speakers in the garage has the chorus louder than the singer??? It is extremely frustrating. Do I have a polarity mix-up? Thanks

How do you have all the speakers connected to the HT reciever?

Thanks for responding. I come off my Pioneer Elite and go to a Crown amplifier. From there I go to a SIMA 6 speaker selector with volume controls. I wasn't satisfied with 6 house speakers...needed a seventh so i ran the garage wires through an A/B switch and powered up the 7th pair outside. I can describe the sound as reverberating at times with the background music louder than the lead singer. Any suggestions?

Ok and just to make sure I understand everything are you using the Zone 2 output of the Pioneer or one of the main preouts?

None of the other speakers are exhibiting this behavior?

What it sounds like is that you are using a surround field like pro-logic or DTS neo that is used for matrixing a stereo signal to 5 speakers which can cause this type of odd sound when engaged with only two speakers. If you are using the Zone 2 which is only a stereo output then this could not be the case.

Did you connect a volume control to this as well?

How long of a wire run is it? Also what gauge wire are you using?
How many pairs of speakers playing at the same time?
I'd start by checking that all the connections are good and in phase, with no wire whiskers touching.

adk,
My receiver says i'm using zones 2&3. When I had the problem I did check that I wasn't running in Surround sound and made sure I ran in music mode. But, you may be right on the number of speakers playing....I did turn off the rest of the house and only ran the garage.....that's when the problem was extremely noticeable. I swithed my A/B switch to A&B but that had no effect.
I don't remember having the issue when more speakers were on.

Rickster,
My connections are good at the speakers but I didn't check at the A/B switch...I'll do that. The run is the longest to the garage....straight line it's 84 feet but that doesn't include vertical rises and drops, so I would estimate about 100feet. If I remember correctly, I purchased 10 ga wire. Thanks WR
