I am looking to get a new job in audio in a few years, how do I get a job in designing, testing, or working with home audio equipment. I want to be apart of the process. Or were do I start? Can someone please help me.

You can look at going into A/V as a career but I would look at a wider scope for your education. Besides, you may find that you want to work in a different field while you're in school. If you want to design this kind of equipment, you'll need an Electrical Engineering degree, possibly with an emphasis in communications engineering.

Custom Home Theater Installation Contractors - CEDIA CEDIA has programs for various types of A/V from designing setups to installation. I've researched it a bit, and they are practically the only ones that offer courses specific to this field.

If you are talking about actually working on and designing the gear itself, then an electrical engineering degree is what you want.
