Hello all. I have a strange occurrence. On some occasions when a light switch is turned on the satellite is interrupted (goes blank) for about 1-2 seconds. After it occurs 1 time, it does not do it again with that particular switch. Lately, I've noticed it happend with another light switch. I think (not positive) that one of the light switch is on the same circuit. What could be the problem and how can it be resolved? I have the tv and DBS plugged into a surge protector (inexpensive monster one) if that helps.

Thanks for any help.

That is strange indeed. Do you know if that circuit to the satellite components has a surge detector or something in it? Maybe it is too sensitive?
You may want to try to discover what is on that same circuit for sure. Call the dish company?

Nope. No surge detector on the circuit - just the surge protector I installed (cheap monster one) - maybe that's the problem.

Update: The problem was Dtv equipment. I recently had FIOS installed and the interruption no longer happens.

I had a problem like this with an old house I lived in and a different cd player than the one I have now. When i would flip a switch the cd player would skip.

Ive got dedicated lines now :)
