Hi everyone,

This morning I turned ON the RX-710 to do as usual, listen some music from the laptop connected to HDMI, I played a little with buttons switching between 2 channels on the KLIPSCH or 7 channels on the BOSE and enjoy the difference is deep sound of a Yamaha ... Not too loud, nothing special with the Bob Marley Live anyays... and then suddenly: really short shrill sound and NOTHING. No more sound. The AV still responding and working normally...
I checked INPUT and cable but I'm afraid this is more serious with something burn with electronic components...

Any suggestions on what can be the problem, if that's common ?

Thank you really much for your time !

Can you be a bit more expansive on the particular gear and connections involved? Did it smell like something burned?

Not at all clear what you have, except an old Yamaha receiver. What is connected to what? You post is vague. My first thought is that the receiver has blown up with a serious problem most likely.

Based on what you describe, I would agree with TLS. The fact that it turns on and seems to work otherwise would suggest the amp section in the AVR has gone bye bye.

When I see "switching between 2 channels on the KLIPSCH or 7 channels on the BOSE", I usually think "both amplifiers are connected to the same speakers" and that doesn't work. Do I understand this correctly?
