My local ABC affiliate has a major sound problem. For the past week the Dolby Digital feed from HD OTA and through Dish has virtually all of the sound coming from the left speaker! This is extremely annoying and there is no way to fix it on my end. This affilate (KOMO) has done very well with HD implementation. They were among the first in the country. Does anyone have any insight on how this problem could have started? Does someone have a balance control out of whack? I can't imagine they haven't noticed this by now. I did email them but I haven't received a response yet.

Is this with all their material, local tv shots like news and the ABC stuff as well?
Yes, they could have issues at any of a number of places. Have you called the dish service? Or, do they really care?
I had similar issues in the past, may have been with the ABC channel, but that was cable company amp equipment and analog feed, not digital or Dolby.
By the way, call the station and talk with engineering. Ask if they monitor their digital audio signals going out and if they know about this issue that you are experiencing.
Some people will just never call to complain or ask and they may not know although that is doubtful. If they know, it may take time to get the equipment exchanged.
