What are your thoughts on Wharfedale?

I bought a pair of the Wharfedale Opus Tri Surround Speakers in the Rosewood in the Piano Gloss Finish and was just wondering what your thoughts were on them as i cant really find too much on them, but thought i would try them out anyway.

I use Wharfedales for my mains and center but have not heard the surrounds you have purchased. I almost bought a pair from ebay a short time ago but as I already have in-walls I could not figure out an excuse to pass by the wife.

I am a big fan of what I own (big suprise there) and the other Wharfedale models I have heard. What I would classify as a "warm" sound and not fatiguing. There are other Wharfedale owners here that have the OPUS series so I'm sure you'll hear from them soon.

I dont have them yet they are coming UPS. I thought i would like to try the Dipole typ of sound for a change and i got a great price on them.

I had a pair of Wharfdales a few years ago and I think they sounded alot like the B&W 602's myself. They had that warm"British" sound to them which I am partial to. I am sure you will enjoy them.

Mini-highjack to answer this as I think it is kind of on topic.

The 50's are a much bigger and wider sound. I think it has to do with 2 things. 1) The addition of the soft dome mid seemed to bring better separation and a wider sound stage. 2) The larger cabinets also lets the speakers go lower so I run my crossover at 60hz for movies and when I go pure direct without my sub they produce a good amount of bass on thier own.
