Tonight?...
I don't know yet; so much to choose from; ...so little motivation... Been READING all of the Harry Dresden novels from Butcher, (Harry Dresden novels) in sequence but I did get a CD shipment from amazon yesterday... Time to multitask?...perhaps..
May just reconnect the home theater PC, with a plethora of choices on the HDs then see where random surfing takes me... (Disconnected the PC while messing around with the speakers, amp & avr...but believe its mostly settled now.)

Enjoy!

With the next season of Dr Who coming out soon I thought I would watch the 2023/2024 season (as released on Disney+) with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson. I understand some of the criticism now. After 7 episodes (3 specials and 4 regular) the writing is just not there. The personal pronoun preferences were annoying and getting old. For "Unit" they added a strong female character in a wheelchair, which was good, but then out of the blue the chair is armed with missiles (because we have to make her stronger than able-bodied people). "Unit" not willing to take action and waiting for authorization from the Doctor seemed out of character. The goblin episode lacked the creativity that previous writers used referencing aliens among us. It deviated too far from goblin lore and lacked credibility (yes, I know that's an odd word for sci-fi). The space babies that followed bordered on the ridiculous and the animated mouths looked poorly done (not to mention the dialogue).

The Toy-maker and Maestro episodes were entertaining and that part of the story line looked promising so maybe some decent episodes to come. It takes a while for the actors to get comfortable in their roles but I hope they learn to tone things down a bit. The Doctor and his companion are just too animated for my taste so far. Peter Capaldi and Jodi Whittaker eventually became excellent in their roles and there were some great episodes in those seasons. A tough act to follow after Matt Smith and David Tennant. I will probably keep plodding through the new episodes as I have seen pretty much every Doctor Who episode made but so far the cheesy episodes from the '70s beat this lot.
